Natalie Green, a former Republican aide, recently shared a photo showcasing her scars alongside a heavily tattooed companion. This comes after she was accused of staging a brutal attack and being labeled a “Trump whore.” Authorities allege that she fabricated the event to gain notoriety.
The 26-year-old from Ocean City, New Jersey, who worked for Republican Rep. Jeff Van Drew, offered an intimate look at her life since the scandal erupted almost a year ago. On Independence Day, she updated her Facebook profile with a cheerful selfie featuring her new acquaintance.
In the photo, Green is seen wearing a knitted tank top that reveals dark pink scars across her shoulders, chest, and neck. Her hair is pulled back into a low ponytail, and she covers her mouth with a manicured hand, as if caught mid-laughter.
Beside her, a man with tattoos on his arms and neck is all smiles, accentuating the casual tone of the image.
Back in July 2020, Green was charged with conspiracy to falsely report a violent attack and making false statements after she claimed she was attacked by three masked gunmen because of her political affiliation. On the night of July 23, 2025, she was discovered in a nature preserve with zip ties around her hands and ankles, displaying numerous surgical-like cuts and the phrase “Trump Whore” scrawled on her abdomen.
However, the Justice Department asserts that the incident was a sham. Investigators determined that Green had enlisted a fetish artist from Pennsylvania to inflict the injuries. Evidence suggests that the cuts on her body corresponded exactly to a reference photo she provided.
In January, Green was granted supervised release while awaiting trial. She has since stayed with her childhood friend, Christine Horton James, who has become her guardian. Horton-James has a history of legal trouble herself, having faced charges related to drug possession and operating an unauthorized vehicle earlier this year.
Horton-James described living with Green as chaotic, saying, “She lives for the drama and wants everything to be about her.” She claimed Green had disrupted her life significantly, going so far as to ransack her home and threaten her. As a result, Horton-James ended their arrangement in March, leaving Green’s current living situation unknown.
Requests for comments from Horton-James, Green, and her attorney have gone unanswered.
