Former Las Vegas attacker Henry Ruggs, who was sentenced to three to 10 years in prison for driving under the influence that killed a young woman and her dog, is being paid $2.50 an hour at a prison camp in Nevada. Earning cents.
Ruggs, 25, pleaded guilty to driving a sports car at 156 mph while intoxicated. Late at night in November 2021, Ruggs crashed into a parked car where 23-year-old Tina Tinter was sitting with her dog. The ensuing collision caused Tinter’s car to burst into flames, killing her and her pet.

On Tuesday, Ruggs was transferred to Stewart Conservation Camp, a minimum-security facility in Carson City. Ms. Ruggs is employed as the facility’s regional manager, and her hourly rate is $2.50.
Many of the inmates at this facility work under the auspices of the Nevada Department of Forestry. Officials say inmates described as community trustees have “limited potential for misconduct and a low risk of escape while assigned to employment within the community.” document.
Ruggs was in his second year with the Raiders when tragedy struck. As a rookie in 2020, Ruggs had 26 catches for 452 yards and two touchdowns. In 2021, he had 24 catches for 469 yards and two touchdowns before being removed from the team due to a fatal accident.

Mr. Ruggs is scheduled to be paroled in August 2026.
