Following his comments regarding the assassination of Charlie Kirk, Forest Frank, a Christian singer, has seen a loss of nearly 30,000 followers on Instagram. However, he seems unfazed by the drop.
Last week, Frank shared a video where he expressed his emotional support for Kirk and acknowledged his contributions to Christian music. While visibly moved, he mentioned feeling uneasy about promoting music until addressing the recent tragedy involving a conservative activist.
His initial video garnered over a million likes and about 20,000 comments, but he mentioned losing a significant number of followers by the time he posted again on September 14. This loss followed his reflections on the events at Utah Valley University on September 10.
In his video, Frank stated, “I posted about Charlie Kirk and said that Jesus Christ is the Lord, so 30,000 people have freed me. Good. I don’t want you to follow me.” His intent was clear: he prefers authentic followers who align with his beliefs. He expressed concern that the changes he feels, while serious, don’t shift his message about Jesus’ love for everyone.
In his video caption, Frank reiterated his focus on faith over popularity, stating, “I don’t care if you follow me, but I care if you follow Jesus.” His commitment appears unwavering, emphasizing authenticity over engagement metrics.
Viewers responded positively in the comments, with many expressing admiration for his stance. Comments included sentiments like, “This made me smile,” and others commending him for standing up for his beliefs despite potential backlash.
Kirk’s tragic assassination occurred during a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University. Reports indicate that 22 people were arrested on charges including aggravated murder and obstructing justice. A judge has ordered one suspect to be held without bail, with formal charges expected to be announced soon.
