According to the latest Nielsen figures, “Fox & Friends” has been pulling away from the competition in the race race where President Trump was elected since President Trump was elected.
Fox News' perennial top-ranked morning show averaged 1.5 million viewers between November 6th and last Friday. This is a 29% increase from the rating from the elections from January 1st to November 5th last year.
By comparison, “Morning Joe” reduced the audience by 40% during the post-election period. Nielsen figures, starting from 1.1 million people in the 1.1 million elections, to just 651,000 people from November 6th to this Friday.
The struggling show hosted by Joe Scarborough and his wife Mika Brzezinski has even been beaten by left-leaning rival CNN with the Key 25-54 demographic over the past two months.
“Fox & Friends” has maintained its number one spot in ratings for over 20 years, but surpassed “Morning Joe” in the 25-54-year-old demographic cited by advertisers. Before the November 5th election, the show portrayed an average of 160,000 viewers at the demonstration.
According to Nielsen, that number has risen 21% since November 6th.
The popularity of “Fox & Friends” outperforms morning shows on network television in certain markets, according to the latest Nielsen figures.
The show attracted a larger audience than ABC's “Good Morning America” or “CBS Morning” including Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas, Boston, Washington, DC, Detroit, and Cleveland.
Meanwhile, “Morning Joe” is bleeding viewers with a demographic of 25-54 people. Before November 5th, the show had an average of 123,000 viewers across its age group. Since then, that number has shrunk to just 67,000 viewers, according to Nielsen.
The couple struggled to get viewers back after revealing they had visited Donald Trump's Mar a Lago Resort following their historic defeat over Vice President Kamala Harris.
They were introspected for the months leading up to the election by “kissing the ring” despite calling Trump a “fascist.”
The misery of the network's morning show comes amidst the turbulence of Primetime after new MSNBC president Rebecca Kutler canned Trump bashing Joy Reed as part of a wider shakeup.
A spokesman for MSNBC attempted to put a positive spin on the crater ratings in “Morning Joe.” The show has seen a 17% increase in viewership since its inauguration date, up from 587,000 from November 5th to January 20th to 684,000 from January 20th.
According to a 25-54 demographic, “Morning Joe” has increased by 24% since the inauguration. The rep added, comparing it to 68,000 compared to 55,000 before January 20th.
MSNBC said “Morning Joe” continued to order more overall viewers in February than CNN.
The farthest third behind are CNN's “This Morning” and “CNN News Central.”
During the period ahead of the November 5th election, the network attracted an average of 352,000 viewers between 6am and 9am.
However, since November 6th, CNN's three-hour block total viewership has fallen by 24% to just 268,000.
The Warner Bros.-Discover-Owned Network has lost audience share in the demographic between the ages of 25 and 54, Nielsen's figures show.
Before the election, 75,000 demonstrators were tailored to “This Morning” and “CNN News Central.” Since the election, that number has fallen 32% to 51,000.
However, CNN's morning crews are profiting against MSNBC.
With a surprising development, “CNN News Central” surpassed “Morning Joe” in the 25-54-year-old demographic for the second consecutive month in February, according to Nielsen Ratings.
According to Nielsen figures, “CNN News Central” attracted 79,000 viewers this month with a 25-54 demographic.
CNN also promoted daytime total figures. This defeated MSNBC for the fifth consecutive time in February. According to Nielsen, CNN Daytime attracted a total of 83,000 viewers, compared to just 67,000 on MSNBC.
