At gunpoint
Delaware judge overseeing Hunter Biden’s federal gun lawsuit Verdict on Friday Prosecutors on Special Counsel David Weiss’ team will not be able to use some of the more salacious evidence at the eldest son’s criminal trial next month.
Prosecutors are not allowed to mention Hunter’s discharge from the Navy (after a cocaine possession arrest) or his child support issues with his unmarried daughter who lives in Arkansas. But they may use parts of the laptop and Hunter’s records as evidence he was using drugs at the time he bought the gun. Hunter is accused of lying about his drug use on a firearms application. He has pleaded not guilty.
Hunter’s lawyers successfully sought to block prosecutors from using the word “spendthrift” to describe his extravagant spending during his years of drug addiction, but the judge will allow evidence that he spent a lot of money. The lawyers also sought limitations on Hunter’s sexual history, arguing that such evidence would be prejudicial and irrelevant to the charges.
