Pastor Franklin Graham Calls for Prayers Ahead of Trump-Putin Meeting
Pastor Franklin Graham is urging prayer for the upcoming meeting between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, scheduled to take place in Anchorage, Alaska. In a recent social media post, Graham specifically called on individuals to pray for both leaders.
“Today is that day. Please pray for our President, Donald J. Trump, as he meets with President Putin in Anchorage. I pray that God grants President Trump wisdom beyond understanding. And for President Putin, may God touch his heart to pursue peace, ending bloodshed,” he stated.
Graham expressed his hope that millions of Christians would pray for tranquility between Ukraine and Russia, believing that peace would benefit not just those two nations, but the world at large.
Quickly, social media users responded to his message, joining in the plea for prayer. One user reflected, “Two powerful men praying for compromise and peace in their hearts. Amen.” Another added, “I pray they reach a peaceful agreement. God should look into their hearts and fill them with compassion for everyone.”
Trump had termed this meeting “highly anticipated” and noted it would focus on the ongoing Russian-Ukraine conflict, according to reports. He shared updates, indicating that Moscow expects the leaders to meet in person to address these significant issues.
On Friday, Trump also characterized the discussions as “high stakes” and shared video footage of his departure from Washington, D.C., en route to Alaska.
While some political figures have criticized former President Joe Biden’s approach to the conflict, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) expressed his belief that Trump is invested in finding a resolution, stating his hopes and prayers would be with Trump during this critical time.
