Fraternity brothers protected the American flag when protesters tried tearing it down — now donations are pouring in

Thousands of generous Americans donate to the Fraternal Brotherhood of North Carolina to protect the Star-Spangled Banner.

On Tuesday, anti-Israel demonstrators at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill removed a prominent American flag from the university’s quad and replaced it with a Palestinian flag. Interim Prime Minister Lee Roberts then personally restored the flag, but protesters repeatedly targeted it until police erected a fence around the flagpole.

At one point, photos and videos were taken of fraternity brothers holding Old Glory off the ground.

The incident spread quickly and eventually someone We have started a GoFundMe campaign “Make them furious.” The GoFundMe identified the brothers Pi Kappa Phi, Alpha Epsilon Pi, and Pi Kappa Psi as those who helped defend the flag.

“Communist losers across the country are infiltrating college campuses and making stupid demands on weak college administrators,” the GoFundMe says. “But in the midst of the chaos, the shouting, the anti-Semitism, the hatred of our faith and our flag, there stood a platoon of American heroes. Armed with Vineyard Vines and Patagonia, inspired by gin and the White Crow. In response, these victorious Brohemians defended Old Glory from the riots, with hordes of unwashed Marxists defending the Star-Spangled Banner from Soviet missiles, laughing at their shrieks and cries.

As of Thursday morning, the campaign had raised nearly $400,000, and donations are still pouring in.

It remains to be seen whether all that money will be used for the big party. However, a GoFundMe representative confirmed to Blaze News that GoFundMe is in contact with campaign organizers to ensure donations go to the appropriate destination.

Meanwhile, campaign organizers provided an update Wednesday, announcing they had hired someone who previously worked in the White House to host the fraternity’s gala.

Student Brendan Rosenblum, one of the fraternity members who helped protect Old Glory, said he and his brother rejected the flag desecration by protesters.

“These guys were trying to tear down the flag, and we were there to protect it,” Rosenblum said. Said News Nation. “My friend and I would never allow that to happen.”

“We all felt that the American flag, and the Stars and Stripes, and for me the Israeli flag, represented what we believed in,” he explained. “And I wasn’t going to let anyone stop me from keeping those two things together.”
