KFSN Action News reports that two of the three Fresno state men's basketball players have been accused of gambling bets on the games they played.
The three players involved are junior forward Mykell Robinson, warning Jalen Weaver and Zaon Collins. Robinson was removed from the team, and Weaver and Collins were stopped.
According to an Action News source, “Robinson and Weaver are allegedly betting that the Bulldog men's basketball team would be below performance in points and rebounds.”
Sources added that Collins did not lock bets into college sports. He also bets on the pro game. Additionally, sources say Weaver will no longer play for Fresno State.
“The NCAA rules are based on information on student-athletes, coaches and track and field staff members, regardless of the sports or competition sector, to provide bets or information on the game, or to those related to any type of sports betting activity. Prohibits providing or engaging with experts, or experts. Amateur Games and Competition, Action News Report. “That includes pools, parlays, prop bets, in-game bets and single game bets.”
Action News reports that Coach Vance Wahlberg discovered the gambling and immediately reported it to the Fresno provincial administration, prompting an investigation.
The loss of three players caused confusion from the court. The Bulldogs lost 10 in a row and were able to dress seven players due to their recent defeat to BYU.
