GasBuddy predicted Monday that gas prices will fall under the Trump administration.
During his campaign, Trump vowed to lower energy prices for Americans by allowing companies to “drill, drill, drill.”
According to CNN, the national average for regular gasoline will fall below 3.22 cents by 2025. report GasBuddy predicts prices will plummet to $2.81 next December.
The $3.22 level would be the lowest annual average since President Joe Biden took office in 2021. By 2022, American drivers will be paying more than $5 a gallon as massive fiscal stimulus and bureaucratic red tape fuel inflation.
“The trend of slow but steady pump improvement will continue in 2025,” Patrick de Haan, head of oil analysis at GasBuddy, told CNN.
Trump has repeatedly promised to unleash America's energy if re-elected. He said prices could drop to about $2 a gallon.
President Trump: “Central to our efforts to rein in the cost of living is a full-throttle push to end the Biden-Harris war on American energy.'' said At a campaign rally in Asheville, North Carolina, in August. “We train, baby, we train.”
After Trump's victory, he told NBC's Kristen Welker: meet the press Biden said rising energy costs fueled inflation, which contributed to his election victory.
“I won on groceries,” Trump said. “I won the election on that basis. … We're going to bring those prices down significantly.”
