Gen Z Journalist explains why so many activists young people

Have you ever wondered why so many radical left-wing activists fall under Generation Z?

Ashley St. Clair, a 25-year-old New York-based journalist who is a Zoomer herself, says she does so because “many Gen Zers feel out of control” and “don’t feel like they’re self-centered.” “They feel like there is nothing they can control.”

“So they seem to be clinging to movements like Free Palestine and BLM because they have such a small influence on different things that they think it’s something they can control and do. Because I feel it,” Ashley told Dave Rubin.

“They don’t have authority. … They’re told the only way they can be of service is through social justice causes, so that’s why they’re drawn to things like I think. [activism] more. ”

This may also explain why so many young people are choosing not to have children.

“I did a street interview with Everylife, a diaper company,” she continues. [girl] She told me outright that she didn’t want to have children because of climate change. ”

Others told her they were choosing not to have children “for financial reasons.”

“They think the worst thing that can happen to their children is to be poor in America,” Ashley said. “It’s just the anti-natalist lies that are being sold to them.” he added.

“They are so afraid of the future” that they believe “the fate of humanity is so catastrophic that they don’t think anything more should happen.”

“Do you think women are in some ways worse off than men right now?” asks Dave.

“It depends on what your criteria for success is, but I think young men and women are struggling a lot these days, especially when it comes to identity,” says Ashley.

“So many people don’t have an identity. They don’t know who they are. [the left] They destroyed it through gender ideology.

“We are fundamentally destroying what it means to be a man and what it means to be a woman.”

Additionally, Gen Z is the most chronically depressed and anxious generation. There are likely many factors contributing to this problem, but one reason is that our highly digital world forces us to take in “always on input” and “perform all the time for everyone.” Ashley says that’s because they’re being treated as such.
