George Clooney, Julia Roberts Warn ‘Democracy’ and ‘Our Children’s Future’ Are at Stake if Trump Wins

Hollywood stars George Clooney and Julia Roberts made ominous comments at a glitzy fundraiser for Joe Biden in Los Angeles on Saturday, warning that “democracy” and “the future of our children” were at risk if former President Donald Trump returned to the White House in November.

George Clooney and Julia Roberts lent their star power to Hollywood’s biggest parties, raising some $30 million for Biden’s reelection campaign, and dutifully recited Democratic talking points designed to intimidate Democrats and rally them to the deeply unpopular Biden.

Clooney warned, “It’s got nothing to do with anything.” [the election] “Except for democracy,” says one researcher. Los Angeles magazine report About the event.

Roberts also spoke ominously. “Just the future. Just my children’s future. My grandchildren’s future,” she was quoted as saying. “That’s all that’s at stake right now. That’s all.”

“Democracy” has become one of Democrats’ favorite talking points in recent months, with celebrities and pundits repeatedly on radio and social media equating Biden with “democracy” and casting his challenger as a threat to democracy.

Other celebrities in attendance at Saturday’s party, held at the Peacock Theater at the LA Live complex, included Jimmy Kimmel, Barbra Streisand and Jack Black.

Streisand also reportedly spoke about “democracy,” warning that “democracy is under attack.”

“But thankfully, we have an experienced Democrat in the White House who has passed transformative domestic legislation,” she said.

On Saturday, Kimmel moderated a conversation between Biden and Barack Obama.

During the meeting, Obama blasted Trump. “I think one of the things that’s happened over the last few years is that behavior that was once disqualifying has become normalized,” Obama was quoted as saying. “We’ve had the spectacle of candidates from both major parties sitting in a courtroom and being convicted by a jury of their peers on 34 counts.”

Despite the huge amount of money raised on Saturday, Biden faces a notable lack of celebrity enthusiasm in this election compared to 2020.

Many stars who had been active in supporting Biden on social media have either remained outright silent or flatly refused to endorse him a second time, fearing that aligning with the unpopular Biden would tarnish their personal brands, especially among younger, progressive voters who are overwhelmingly anti-Israel.
