The Miami Dolphins are taking a significant turn as they look to rebuild. Following a tough 7-10 season, team president Tom Garfinkel made big changes, letting go of head coach Mike McDaniel and trading starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to the Atlanta Falcons.
To fill these gaps, the Dolphins signed Malik Willis from the Packers to steer the offense and hired Jeff Hafley, another Green Bay alum, as the new head coach.
With the 2026 NFL schedule now revealed, fans can see how the Willis-Hafley or potentially Quinn Ewers era is shaping up. Key matchups for the Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium include games against Patrick Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs on September 27, Drake Maye’s AFC Champion New England Patriots on November 1, Jared Goff’s Detroit Lions on November 8, Caleb Williams’ Chicago Bears on December 13, and Josh Allen’s Buffalo Bills on January 3, 2027, marking their last home game of the season.
However, it appears Miami is facing quite the challenge, reportedly landing the second-toughest schedule among the NFL’s 32 teams due to a variety of uncontrollable circumstances.
“I want to win no matter what the situation is, no matter what I do,” Hafley shared on Richard Sherman’s podcast. “Right now, the goal is to establish a solid foundation and culture. Sure, it might sound clichéd, but I think it really matters. We need to foster competitive spirit among our players to help them improve each day. It’s essential to create that environment of competition now.”
To prepare for the upcoming season, new general manager John-Eric Sullivan acted decisively during the offseason. Following the release of several major players, including Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and Bradley Chubb, he secured free agent signings like wide receiver Tutu Atwell, linebacker Joshua Uche, lineman Jamarie Saire, receiver Jalen Tolbert, and offensive tackle Charlie Heck.
Returning stars Devon Ashen, Zach Sheeler, Chopp Robinson, and Jordyn Brooks will join promising draft picks Kadin Proctor, Chris Johnson, and Jacob Rodriguez.
If you want to catch Hafley’s new team in action, tickets are available for all eight of the Dolphins’ home games at Hard Rock Stadium.
