Gia Giudice criticized for requesting Trump to forgive her father Joe

Gia Giudice is receiving criticism after she requested President Donald Trump to pardon her father, Joe Giudice, who was deported to Italy in 2019.

Inspired by the recent pardon given to Todd and Julie Chrisley, Gia posted a video where she is seen signing letters addressed to the president. She shared this on Instagram, revealing her emotional thoughts on the situation.

“Hi everyone, I’m Gia Giudice,” she started the video. “I’m Joe Giudice’s daughter, and today I’m speaking from a personal place.”

“My dad was deported over four years ago. Since then, our family has gone through a lot emotionally. He tries to keep it together for us, but it’s hard. He still feels the pain,” she said.

Gia explained how her father, before his deportation, was always there for family events like cheer competitions and dance recitals. “He was the one who took care of us, and now he’s so far away,” she added, mentioning that he currently lives in the Bahamas.

She expressed her hope that forgiveness could restore families and hinted that there’s a chance for compassion within the judicial system.

While her words had an encouraging tone, many of her followers responded negatively, accusing her of being “tone-deaf.” Some pointed out the hypocrisy in her request, considering her father’s past legal troubles.

Joe Giudice was deported after serving 41 months for tax fraud and other related charges. There’s also concern from her followers about the privileges she seems to have, given that she has the resources to visit him whenever she wishes.

One comment read, “It’s frustrating to see someone asking for a pardon when so many people are facing real repercussions for much less.” Another noted that Gia’s situation reflects a larger issue about privilege and the disparity in how the legal system affects different people.

Despite the backlash, Gia appears to have the support of her mother, Teresa Giudice, who left supportive comments on her post.

This renewed request for a pardon comes after Joe himself had appealed to the president last month. He, along with Teresa, faced federal charges in 2013 related to fraud and both served time. Joe’s sentence lasted until March 2019, and over the years, the family’s trials have been a hot topic in the media.
