Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Bucks delivers a message: 'Safeguard children, not firearms'

Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo reached out to his followers on Tuesday, hinting at potential changes as the NBA approaches the 2025-26 season. He shared a slideshow on Instagram showcasing his workouts, donning a shirt with a notable message.

The shirt had the phrase, “Protect children, not guns.” Alongside this, his caption featured colorful hearts, though the context behind the message remains unclear.

Antetokounmpo has been the subject of trade speculation lately, especially after reports suggested he might consider leaving the Bucks if he feels it’s time for a new beginning. ESPN noted back in May that he was “open-minded” about possibly continuing his career with another team, raising questions about his future in Milwaukee.

Interestingly, no specific teams were mentioned regarding these discussions, and it seems the Bucks had not been actively pursuing deals involving their two-time MVP. Still, expectations suggest that future conversations about his career trajectory are imminent.

The inquiry about his commitment to Milwaukee intensified soon after the Bucks were eliminated by the Indiana Pacers. Antetokounmpo reflected on his championship aspirations, especially in light of recent playoff disappointments.

He candidly stated, “I’m not going to do this. I know… whatever I say, I know how it translates. I don’t know, I wish I was still playing. I wish I was still competing and back to Milwaukee.”

With the NBA Draft approaching this Wednesday, there’s a possibility that the Bucks could either address their roster needs or explore trade options for Antetokounmpo.
