Democrats recently suffered a significant electoral defeat, largely attributed to progressive strategies that increasingly alienated many voters. Yet, rather than reassessing their approach, they seem committed to their principles.
Take Washington state as a case in point. “If you’re in Washington, it’s time to get out!” Glenbeck stated firmly.
In Washington, the governor holds the authority to declare a state of emergency without needing prior legislative approval. This gives them extensive power to restrict activities and suspend certain regulations during emergencies, impacting both public and private sectors.
Senate Bill 5434 was proposed in light of concerns regarding former Democratic Governor Jay Inslee’s emergency powers used during the Covid-19 crisis. The aim of this bill was to place limitations on these powers, but ultimately, it did not pass.
“Remember, this is a state that previously considered creating small detention facilities for the unvaccinated,” Glenn noted. “If you think they won’t do it again, you might want to reconsider.”
Another concerning legislation is House Bill 2077, known as the “Tesla Tax.” This imposes a 2% tax on the zero-emission vehicle credits that automakers sell, and a 10% tax on credits that are deferred. Tesla, being the primary seller of these credits, finds itself particularly affected since this tax applies after exceeding the 25,000 credit limit. The motive behind this bill is to address the state’s escalating budget shortfall.
Glenn attributes this additional tax to the state’s budget mismanagement.
“States like Washington and California have gone overboard with spending. If my state is behaving responsibly while yours is not, don’t expect me to bail you out,” he expressed. “The Constitution isn’t a pact for self-destruction.”
Lastly, Glenn highlighted House Bill 1131, which prioritizes illegal immigrants for pardons over U.S. citizens with criminal records.
“HB 1131 allows those facing deportation to jump ahead of U.S. citizens for clemency,” said co-host Stu Burguiere.
“Sell your home and leave the state!” Glenn urged.
