Glenn Beck raises concerns about Apple’s digital ID: ‘Control over everything’

Apple’s New Digital ID Faces Criticism

Apple has rolled out a digital ID integrated into Apple Wallet. However, Glenn Beck, co-founder of Blaze Media, expressed serious concerns about this development, labeling it a “very bad idea.”

Beck elaborated, saying, “Digital ID is the first step. It will incorporate your medical records, your health status—essentially everything. It influences your access to hospitals and even your ability to purchase items.”

He emphasized that this kind of system could end up controlling significant aspects of daily life. “You can go online or not, but it’s completely controlling everything. It’s part of their design, and they are quite open about it,” he explained.

Beck’s skepticism stems from observing government overreach during the pandemic. With a wry tone, he mentioned, “We’re now being presented with a new Apple digital ID. You can simply show it at TSA checkpoints in over 250 airports across the U.S. and board your flight.”

Apple has stated that this digital ID is “not a replacement” for a physical passport, though it will allow users to store official government identification in their wallets.

Another Blaze TV host, Stu Bruguiere, remarked that it “sounds appealing” at first glance. But Beck cautioned that, ultimately, the implications could be severe.

“What I’m trying to convey is that when everything—your records, your passports—is stored in one place tied directly to the internet, it tracks every dollar you spend and your whereabouts. This is a very bad idea,” he asserted.

He added, “There’s a narrative… it’s akin to the apocalypse. How clearly do we need to state that you won’t be able to buy or sell anything without the Mark? I’m not suggesting Apple created the Mark of the Beast, but this technology is certainly aligned with that concept.”
