New UFO Records Released by Army

A strange video featuring a bright object shooting upward at incredible speeds is among the peculiar findings in the latest set of government UFO records. Yet, officials still can’t explain what it is.

The Department of the Army recently announced the release of more declassified Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) records on the WAR.GOV/UFO site. This second round of files comes roughly two weeks after the initial disclosure on May 8 and follows a transparency initiative put in place by former President Donald Trump, which states that more records will be unveiled over time.

One clip, entitled “Syrian UAP Instant Acceleration,” shows footage that the Pentagon states was captured using infrared sensors on a U.S. military platform back in 2021; it was later uploaded to a classified network in 2024.

Another video shows American fighter jets targeting and destroying a drone over Lake Huron in February 2023. This incident occurred shortly after Chinese reconnaissance balloons were reported flying over U.S. airspace. General Glenn VanHerck, who was the NORAD director at the time, remarked that the military could not determine how this object ended up in the sky, emphasizing, “There’s a reason we call them objects and not balloons.”

The latest release includes 51 videos gathered by the All Area Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), which the Department of Defense uses to investigate these types of sightings. House members had requested this footage in March. One account detailed a senior intelligence officer witnessing orange orbs swarming around his aircraft, which tracked the fighter jets sent to intercept them, leaving the crew bewildered. However, the Pentagon cautioned that many of these files do not have a verified chain of custody.

Investigators have not been able to confirm any of the sightings as extraterrestrial. The case remains open, with AARO indicating that there is no evidence of alien origins, although many reported sightings still lack clear explanations. Army Secretary Pete Hegseth hailed this release as a win for transparency, stating that it’s crucial for the American public to see the information for themselves.

Since its launch on May 8, the WAR.GOV/UFO site has attracted over a billion visitors. Trump has committed to continue releasing files, associating them with “aliens and extraterrestrials,” ending his directive with the declaration, “God bless America!”
