GoFundMe For Trump Rally Shooting Victims Raises Over $4M

A prominent Florida-based political fundraiser has launched a “Donald Trump Endorsement” campaign. GoFundMeThe purpose is to raise funds for the “injured” victims and families of those killed in Saturday’s assassination attempt in Pennsylvania.

Meredith O’Rourke, a Tallahassee native, whose LinkedIn job title is listed as “national financial director and senior advisor” to Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign, is listed as the organizer of an online fundraiser.

As of Monday morning, the GoFundMe had raised $4 million, well over its $1 million goal.

Furthermore, as of July 15thNumberAs of January 1, 2024 at 1:40pm PST, the page shows “$4,355,168” has been donated.

Major donors on GoFundMe include musician Kid Rock and UFC president Dana White, who both donated $50,000. Florida Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) and his wife, Ann, also donated $50,000 to the effort.

Other big donors included entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswami, who gave $30,000, entrepreneur John Shahidi, who gave $25,000, and popular conservative commentator Ben Shapiro, who donated $15,000.

Meanwhile, the fund had received more than 52,000 donations as of Monday morning.

Former fire chief Corey Comperatore, 50, died in the attack while trying to protect his wife and two daughters. David Duch, 57, and James Copenhaver, 74, were also seriously injured but are currently in “stable” condition. All three were from Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro (D-PA) on Sunday ordered the state’s flags to be flown at half-staff in memory of the shooting victims, and Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R-VA) on Monday instructed his state to do the same.
