Congressional Republicans are criticizing the Biden administration’s border policies after a Venezuelan immigrant who crossed the border illegally was charged with the murder of a Georgia nursing student.
Jose Antonio Ibarra, 26, the suspect in the murder of nursing student Laken Riley on the University of Georgia campus, is a Venezuelan national who entered the country illegally. El Paso, Texas Three ICE and DHS officials told Fox News that they were released on parole to the United States in September 2022.
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) expressed his condolences to Riley’s family and friends and reiterated the Republican Party’s efforts to pass border legislation.
