In an interview with Fox 11 Los Angeles’ Erex Michelson that aired on Friday’s “The Issue Is,” Sen. Alex Padilla (D-Calif.) said President Vladimir Putin will Republican presidential candidate has something about former President Donald Trump and claimed that’s why the Republican Party is objecting to the presidential election. Padilla also voted against the foreign aid bill when it was tied to the immigration bill, because that bill only dealt with enforcement.
“I supported all the other foreign aid elements, but not at the expense of bad immigration policy. There was some good in the package, but there was also a lot of very bad,” Padilla said. Most notable is the return to Title 42, a mechanism that seeks to close borders, while calling Title 42 by a different name, as we know from experience that Title 42 The number of people entering the United States decreased during the Trump administration when it was in effect. States illegally rose.”
Michelson then interjected, “Does Title 42 make it easier to basically deport people right away?”
Padilla replied: without going through due process. ”
Padilla also said, “For the first time, a border and immigration proposal…is being put on the table purely for enforcement purposes and provides no redress for people like DREAMers, farmworkers, undocumented essential workers, and undocumented workers.” “There was no such thing,” he said, calling it “very important.” Make this country stronger and make our economy stronger every day. We have to get back to that balanced approach. ”
Afterwards, he said, “President Putin has something in mind for President Trump. That’s clear, and Trump has great influence over the Republican Party.” Are there enough Republicans standing up to do what’s right for America and our democracy? …Meanwhile, critical policy, foreign aid to critical allies is on hold. So, Republicans, release the hostages. Please stop giving aid from foreign countries.”
