Rep. Mike Walz (R-Florida) has been offered the role of national security adviser in the incoming Trump administration, sources have confirmed to Fox News Digital.
Walz has been one of Trump's most visible surrogates in the 2024 campaign, spearheading military efforts and leading the Veterans Coalition for Trump.
The Florida congressman is the first retired Green Beret to serve in Congress and has served in the administration as a policy advisor to former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates.
The Wall Street Journal first reported that Waltz had been offered the role.
