In a portion of an interview with Fox News Senior Congressional Correspondent Chad Pergrum that aired Friday on “Fox News @ Night,” Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.) spoke about the Republican proposed amendments to the bill. The pressure for the vote was as follows: The Laken Riley government funding bill and the ban on charter flights for illegal immigrants are “all politics,” he said, “a waste of time, a waste of money, and I think it’s really irresponsible.”
Pergrum said the amendment “includes the Laken Riley Act and a plan to ban charter flights for illegal immigrants, and Democrats said no.” …These votes will put Democrats in a tough position as they face tough redistricting. They include Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) and Sen. Bob Casey (D-Pennsylvania). ”
He then played a clip of Stabenow and said, “This is all politics. This is all politics, the politics of fundraising, whether people want to do something and send out fundraising emails; Either you want someone else to be in that spot. It’s all politics.”
“I think it’s just a waste of time, a waste of money, and really irresponsible,” Stabenow said in another video.
