GOP’s Nella Domenici raises $1.25M in race against New Mexico Sen. Martin Heinrich

Republican Nella Domenici raised $1.25 million between January and March in her campaign to unseat Sen. Martin Heinrich (DN.M.), her campaign announced Friday.

Domenici, the daughter of the late Sen. Pete Domenici (R.N.M.) and a former executive at Bridgewater Associates, has received contributions from more than 1,100 donors and received donations in the first quarter, according to her campaign. He noted that her fundraising total is the highest of any Republican Senate candidate. She raised money in the state during the first quarter of the election year.

Mr. Heinrich’s campaign has not yet reported its fundraising figures for the first quarter of this year, but the deadline for reporting is April 15.

The New Mexico Democratic Party raised $781,000 in fundraising in the fourth quarter of last year, leaving it with $3.5 million in cash at the end of the year.

Mr. Heinrich is running for a third term in the Senate. In 2018, he defeated his last challenger, Republican Mick Rich, by nearly 24 points. Nonpartisan election handicappers rate Heinrich’s seat as “solidly Democratic.”
