Kamala Harris's imminent CNN In an interview with Minnesota Democratic Gov. Tim Walz, Harris' running mate, Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders suggested Democrats think Harris “needs a babysitter” to follow through on her debate promises.

“It's clear that her team and her party believe she needs a babysitter,” Sen. Bernie Sanders, R-Arkansas, said Wednesday. “That's why they're putting her running mate on stage with her, so that if things play out as we just saw, he can answer questions for her, as she has done in previous interviews.”

Many Americans question whether Ms. Harris is capable of handling the responsibilities of the presidency, or whether she can keep her promises and live up to expectations without guidance or oversight. At the Democratic National Convention, when political commentators asked attendees about their favorite achievements, they were often met with stunned looks or silence.

Calls for Ms Harris to give an interview have grown as she has risen to the forefront of the Democratic presidential candidates, with critics saying her repeated ducking is no longer acceptable and that she must step up and take responsibility.

Trump and Harris are also scheduled to face off in a debate in the coming weeks. ABC NewsThe former president said Tuesday that he and her team had “reached an agreement” despite Harris' attempts to change the “mute your microphone” rule.

“I have also been assured by ABC that the debate will be 'fair and impartial' and that no questions will be given to either side in advance,” Trump said.
