Governor Shapiro Critiques Kamala Harris on Latest Book Claims

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro hasn’t held back in his criticism of former Vice President Kamala Harris regarding remarks in her new book, which recounts her unsuccessful presidential campaign. He dismissed her assertions as “total nonsense.”

In a conversation with Tim Alberta from the Atlantic, Shapiro reacted to excerpts from Harris’s book, 107 Days, particularly her comments about selecting a running mate.

Harris claimed that Shapiro dominated the discussion in her interview for the vice presidency and implied he was involved in every decision, even reminding him that the vice president isn’t a co-president. She also noted a peculiar question he supposedly asked about borrowing artwork from the Smithsonian.

“Did she actually write that?” Shapiro questioned during the interview, appearing taken aback.

“That’s utter nonsense. Her explanation is a blatant lie,” he added, clearly upset.

In reflecting on his engagement during the discussions, Shapiro noted, “If someone approached me about forming a partnership, wouldn’t you ask questions?”

When discussing his feelings about Harris, Shapiro suggested that she might be trying to deflect blame while promoting her book.

He clarified, “You shouldn’t say someone’s trying to hide; it’s not appropriate. She’s just trying to sell books.”

Shapiro proceeded to express his view that the Democratic Party often overlooks non-college-educated white voters, claiming, “Democrats have lost ground in these communities by failing to show up and show respect.”

While he expressed his dislike for Donald Trump, he acknowledged the former president’s unique ability to connect with voters on a cultural level.

“Donald Trump is a once-in-a-generation politician who relates on a deeper cultural level,” Shapiro said.

It seems Shapiro’s reputation has remained intact, largely avoiding the fallout from Harris’s failed presidential run. He is now considered a potential candidate for future elections. Recent data from a Quinnipiac University Poll suggests that his approval rating is around 60%.
