An Illinois man is giving a huge thank you to a stranger-turned-hero this holiday.
A U.S. postal worker rushed to the aid of an elderly man who fell and hit his head while walking. These two, once strangers, will now celebrate Thanksgiving together as a family.
Jalen Lockhart was working as a regular mail carrier in Aurora, Illinois, on Saturday when he was walking his dog, Bentley, when he took a bad fall and hit his head on the ground, according to local reports. Miller, 75, was found.
The selfless worker quickly turned the mail truck around, rushed to Miller's bloodied side, put pressure on his head wound, called 911, and called for help from neighbors. Mr Lockhart, 26, then rushed to Mr Miller's home to inform his wife before completing the route.
“No matter where you are or what you're doing, you always have time to stop and help,” said Lockhart, who has been working at USPS for about a year. he told the Washington Post.
“Something beautiful may happen.”
Miller, who has diabetes, suffered minor bruises in the fall, but said he remembered losing his balance and struggling to stand up until Lockhart came to help him, the report said.

“It's kind of a bad thing that this led me to meet Jalen, but in a good way, it's a good thing,” Miller said. he told Good Morning America.
“Because I made a friend again.”
With so much to be thankful for, Miller and his wife, Marcia, invited Lockhart and his loved ones to join them for Thanksgiving. He gladly accepted the invitation.
“This is not the end. This is just the beginning of a long friendship, a family relationship,” Marcia Miller told The Washington Post.
“It's just incredible.”
