Gunman at Country Club Reportedly Yelled ‘Free Palestine’ Before Shooting, According to Witness

Tragic Shooting at New Hampshire Wedding Reception

A gunman reportedly shouted “Free Palestine” before opening fire at a wedding reception in a New Hampshire country club on Saturday, leading to the death of one attendee.

Witness Tom Bartelson mentioned that he heard about six gunshots but initially thought they were balloons popping. “When I looked around, there were no balloons at all,” he recalled.

Reports indicate that the assailant walked through the celebration, heading toward the kitchen, while yelling phrases like “The kids are safe” and “Free Palestine.”

Another witness, Michael Homewood, noted that the shooter passed through the dance floor and entered the kitchen. According to local news, the gunman then flipped items over before exiting through the back door.

There were additional reports that the incident unfolded at a restaurant adjacent to the reception venue.

New Hampshire Attorney General John Formera reported that the suspect, identified as 23-year-old Hunter Nadeau, was a former employee of the club. He stated that during the event, Nadeau made a series of statements, but currently, there is no evidence indicating that his actions were motivated by hate.

The victim was identified as 59-year-old Robert Stephen Juterre, who, according to his mother, tried to protect his wife and daughter during the attack.

In addition, two other individuals, including the host of the event, were also shot. The suspect was apprehended near the club following the incident.

Republican Governor Kelly Ayott expressed her condolences, saying, “Joe and I pray for the tragic shooting victims and their families,” and took a moment to thank the officials for their quick response.
