Halloween Decor Inspired by Taylor Swift Goes Viral in Hoboken

A house on Garden Street has gained attention for its Halloween decorations that playfully feature Taylor Swift’s ex-boyfriends, much to the delight of fans. A tombstone marked with the name of one of her famous past partners has caught the eye of many, leading to around 2.5 million views on TikTok.

The festive display includes notable names like Harry Styles, Joe Jonas, John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal, Matt Healy, and Joe Alwyn. However, some fans find the omission of a few former flames notable. “What about Tom Hiddleston?” one fan pointed out, referencing the British actor who dated Swift back in 2016.

Another user remarked humorously, “Calvin isn’t here,” referring to Calvin Harris, the Scottish DJ, who dated Swift for about a year. It seems like he might have been overlooked in the spooky tribute.

Others mentioned other past relationships as well. One user said, “Thank you for not adding Taylor Lautner,” the actor she dated briefly in 2009. Someone else pointed to Conor Kennedy, noting, “Wasn’t she dating Kennedy?” and suggested he should have made the list too.

Tim Dwyer, the decorator behind this creative design, shared that the reason for the snub of certain names was simple: “I didn’t want to spend $1,000 on a custom tombstone because I had so many.” This playful yet eerie decoration has captured the community’s attention in Hoboken.

The lively scene also features skeletons of Swift and her new fiancé, Travis Kelce, attentively posed in Chiefs jerseys. To add a twist, there’s a prison cell scene with a skeleton representing Scooter Braun, the record executive known for his conflicts with Swift regarding her earlier albums, further enhancing the Halloween vibe.

Dwyer explained that the homeowners reached out right after settling into the neighborhood, which is renowned for its extravagant Halloween setups. They said, “We’ve got to come up with something that’s going to go viral, and his wife is a Swiftie,” indicating the thought and effort put into attracting attention.

The decorations have indeed gone viral, being actively discussed on the community’s social media. Comments ranged from surprise at Swift’s “high body count” to astonishment over the names included in her whimsical graveyard of ex-lovers.
