A Halloween display in a Houston neighborhood has sparked outrage due to its provocative nature. The exhibit showcases mannequins that are dressed in red hats resembling a popular political symbol and appear to be hanging from a wooden gallows adorned with a Mexican flag.

The display, situated in a predominantly Hispanic area, features two mannequins sporting red hats, black shirts, khaki pants, and masks. They are depicted hanging from nooses, with one mannequin appearing to have a stack of zip ties in its pocket.

Additionally, there’s a third mannequin dressed in a poncho and straw hat, seemingly tied to the ground beside the gallows. On either side, two more figures are showcased beneath large Mexican flags.

The red hats worn by the hanging mannequins resemble the infamous “Make America Great Again” caps associated with President Trump. It’s notable that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, known for their anonymity, often wear similar dark clothing and carry zip ties.

The video of this display has gone viral, leading many people to visit the location in person, as reported widely on social media.

One user shared, “The family in Houston created a Halloween scene featuring two mannequins hanged from a gallows topped with a Mexican flag.” Another commenter expressed harsh criticism, stating, “This hateful exhibit might be inciting violence, crossing the line of free speech. Whoever is behind this could face arrest.”

This controversial display reflects the ongoing tensions around immigration enforcement under the Trump administration, particularly in Houston’s Second District, which has a large Hispanic community.
