On Friday’s “CNN News Night” broadcast, Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pennsylvania) said in response to President Joe Biden’s criticism of Israel’s military response on Oct. 7 that Hamas He said he was hiding in the shadows. He added that while Hamas is “fully responsible” for the deaths of Palestinian civilians, Israel wants to “minimize” civilian deaths and that the conflict will end if Hamas surrenders. Deaf said he doesn’t know why more people aren’t talking about their surrender.
host Abbey Phillippe asked. “You have been a staunch supporter of Israel in recent months. You have supported the State of Israel and the ways of the Israel Defense Forces. Mr. Fetterman replied: “No, I’m not saying that’s wrong. I’m saying that’s his opinion. I’m not necessarily going to agree with that. Therefore, there is no real peace in Gaza. I believe that it is very important to destroy and eliminate Hamas in order to bring about this.”
Philip then asked, “Are you concerned about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plan to evacuate more than 1.3 million people from the Rafah region?” It’s southern Gaza. That’s basically where Israel tells civilians in Gaza to go. Are you concerned about what operations there will mean for civilians who have already been evacuated?”
Mr. Fetterman replied: The death of an innocent Palestinian is a tragedy, and it does happen.But we also know that all the blood [on] The same goes for Hamas. They are responsible for all of that.And I don’t know why it’s there [are] The number of people speaking does not increase [about why Hamas must surrender]. Why not bring back the last hostage as well? ”
