Hamas Steals Aid, But Israel Needs to Get More Aid in

On Wednesday’s “CNN Newsroom” broadcast, Rep. Jim Himes (D-Conn.) said Hamas “has a long history of stealing aid” and “we need to stop it,” but Israel also said land transport of aid needs to be inspected more quickly. He said more aid could be coming in and praised the US airlift of aid to Gaza.

Himes said: “The humanitarian situation in Gaza is unsustainable and requires further action from all parties involved here. Of course, Hamas has a long history of stealing aid goods, but they are We need to stop it in the interests of those who claim to be doing it. Of course, the United States is doing everything it can. [are] An airdrop has occurred and a pier is being built in the ocean. Israelis need to start inspecting land cargo much sooner than they do now. It is no one’s goal to starve Gazans. It’s a moral affront, and ultimately, it’s not in the long-term interest of resolving this issue in the long term. Therefore, I would like to answer your question by saying that everyone involved needs to work even harder than they are currently doing to ensure that humanitarian aid is delivered. ”
