Harris campaign adds policy positions to website, contrasts with ‘Trump’s Project 2025 Agenda’

Vice President Harris' campaign posted policy positions on its website the day before the presidential debate and created an outline contrasting her positions with those of former President Trump.

A new way forward” spearheads Harris’ plan to “build an opportunity economy and ease the burden on families.”

The economy often ranks as the most important issue for voters, and Harris has been on the defensive against criticism from Republicans that her administration would be an extension of the Biden administration, in which many Americans have found the costs of groceries, gas, rent and child care too high.

The economic section of Harris' campaign website outlines proposals to cut taxes for middle-class families, make rent more affordable and homeownership more attainable, develop small businesses and invest in entrepreneurs, and concludes with a contrast with “Trump's Project 2025 plan,” which she claims will “make prices go up.”

Trump has sought to distance himself from Project 2025, the Heritage Foundation's blueprint for a conservative president.

Another section of Harris' policy platform page focuses on “fundamental freedoms,” outlining proposals to restore and protect reproductive freedom and safeguard civil rights and liberties, and notes that Project 2025 includes a nationwide abortion ban.

The provisions, which state that a Harris administration will “ensure safety and justice for all,” include plans to protect communities from gun violence, improve our immigration system, address the opioid and fentanyl crises and “ensure that no one is above the law.”

The final section promises to “keep America safe, secure, and prosperous” and lays out plans to stand with allies, stand up to dictators, lead on the world stage, invest in the sources of American strength, and support our military and veterans.

Trump's website says Platform Page It lists 20 key issues, with tackling border disputes and ending inflation topping the list.
