Harris claims she was ‘honest with the American people’ about Biden’s mental acuity: ‘Capable in every way’

Vice President Kamala Harris was asked in an interview with NBC News' Harry Jackson whether she was upfront with the American people about President Biden's mental decline.

During Tuesday's sit-in, Jackson noted that Harris had been a staunch defender of Biden whenever asked by the media about Biden's age. She supported him as he sought re-election on the Democratic ticket before his disastrous performance in CNN's presidential debate led to him withdrawing from the race.

“Can you say you were honest with the American people about what you saw in that moment, just as you were with President Biden over and over again at the time?”

“Of course,” Harris replied. “Joe Biden is very accomplished, experienced and capable in all the ways that anyone would want to be president.”

“Have you ever seen anything like what happened that night in the closed-door debate with him?'' Jackson continued.

Harris responded: “It was a bad argument. People make bad arguments.”

“But that's why you're here, and he's not running to the top,” Jackson said.

“Well, you'd have to ask him if that's the only reason,” Harris replied.

“What do you think?” Jackson then asked.

“I'm running for president of the United States, and Joe Biden is not,” Harris said. “And my presidency will bring a new generation of leadership to America that is focused on the work we have to do to invest in the ambitions and aspirations of the American people.”

The NBC News anchor clarified to the vice president that this was a “matter of judgment.”

“That's why I ask: Can the American people be trusted in this moment to be equal to Americans in that way, even when it's probably uncomfortable? That's why I ask,” Jackson said. spoke. “And it sounds like what you're saying is you feel like you've never seen anything like that from President Biden.”

“I've spent hours and hours and hours working with Joe Biden over the last four years, whether it's in the Situation Room or the Oval Office…I've worked with Joe Biden not only on integrity, but also on his commitment to this… No, of course I'm not going to say that,” Harris said.

Harris previously came under fire for knowing about Biden's mental decline during a conversation with Fox News' Bret Baier, during which she revealed how Biden was “from the Oval Office to the Situation Room.” They had similar reactions regarding whether they were working in the field.

“We've seen each other at least once a week for three and a half years. Were you ever worried?” Bayer pressed.

“I think the American people are concerned about Donald Trump,” Harris responded. “That's why those who knew him best, including leaders in our national security community, even those who worked for him in the Oval Office and with him in the Situation Room, say he is unfit. It's dangerous and he should never be president of the United States again, including as a former vice president, and that's why he had the luxury of choosing another vice presidential candidate.''
