It’s official: Vice President Kamala Harris will be the only candidate listed on the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) virtual presidential roll call ballot after effortlessly ascending to the Democratic Party’s standard-bearer.
Her unbeatable solo status came after party heavyweights successfully pushed aside President Joe Biden and installed her as the presumptive nominee for the 2024 White House election.
“Through a transparent, democratic and orderly process, our party has met this unprecedented moment and unified behind a proven candidate to lead us in the fight ahead,” Democratic National Committee Chairman Jaime Harrison said in a statement Tuesday night, confirming Harrison’s unwavering position.
Delegates to the convention will begin voting on Harris’ nomination on Thursday and are due to finish by Aug. 5.

According to party rules, candidates qualify to run for the nomination by filing a notarized declaration of candidacy, meeting the legal requirements to run for president, and securing the electronic signatures of at least 300 delegates. The 300-person minimum can require no more than 50 signatures from any one delegate.
The Democratic National Convention announced that 3,923 delegates had petitioned to nominate Harris. Reports.
Despite the early voting to select the nominee, delegates are scheduled to gather as scheduled for the Democratic National Convention in Chicago in late August.
Harris’ endorsement came at the same time she appeared at a campaign rally in Georgia where she appeared to show off a new accent, Breitbart News reported.

This has led many to draw comparisons to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s Southern accent.
“And you all helped us win in 2020, and we’re going to do it again in 2024,” Harris told the crowd in what sounded like a Southern accent. “Yes, we will.”
