Vice President Harris plans to campaign in three key battleground states this week, campaign officials said, underscoring the campaign's confidence that there are multiple paths for her to win the 270 electoral votes in November.
Harris is scheduled to campaign in Pennsylvania on Wednesday and is expected to focus on her economic vision for the country if elected.
Campaign officials said Vice President Harris will head out west later in the week to campaign in Arizona on Friday and Nevada on Sunday, and will also attend fundraisers on the West Coast during the trip.
Harris' visit reflects how she has broadened her base since replacing President Biden at the top of the list of candidates. She visited Democratic states Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Georgia last week. The week before, she was in North Carolina after a debate with former President Trump.
According to Trump's campaign, he plans to visit Michigan and Georgia this week.
Polls show Harris leading Trump nationally, with the vice president leading by 3.6 percentage points in the Decision Desk HQ/The Hill average.
But the race remains very close in the seven battleground states expected to determine the outcome of the election: The Decision Desk average of polls has Harris separated by less than one percentage point from Trump in Michigan, Georgia, Arizona and North Carolina, by 1.2 percentage points in Pennsylvania and Nevada, and by 2 percentage points in Wisconsin.
