Harvey Levin explains ransom details as networks reveal disturbing 'buried with nature' message.

Disappearance of Nancy Guthrie Takes a Turning Point

Nancy Guthrie’s case has taken a dramatic turn recently. Harvey Levin, founder of TMZ, has been in contact with the FBI regarding her disappearance and shared details about a ransom communication that the outlet received.

Levin reported that the memo indicated Guthrie said, “I was scared but I’m okay,” which, notably, lacked any apology or hint that she might have died. In another twist, a local Tucson television station got hold of various communications, including a second note suggesting that Guthrie had been “naturally buried.” This implies the kidnappers may not have originally intended for her to be harmed.

Additionally, TMZ disclosed that they received numerous emails in the aftermath of the kidnapping from someone claiming to know both the identity of the kidnapper and the location of an 84-year-old man involved, emphasizing that he wasn’t part of the abduction. This individual requested information in exchange for Bitcoin and stressed that “time is of the essence.”

However, the following day, this person sent another email stating, “Time is no longer of the essence.” Levin interpreted this as a sign that Nancy might not be alive any longer. He noted that typical scammers often create a sense of urgency to pressure victims, and the sudden shift in tone could suggest something more dire.

Reports had initially indicated that law enforcement was advised to keep details about the ransom note under wraps to verify any future communications with the kidnappers. Surprisingly, the FBI did not fulfill the email sender’s financial request, even after TMZ offered to cover the bill.

Levin had mentioned that the FBI had been unresponsive to him at first, but the agency clarified that they declined to pay because they were making significant progress in the case.

The investigation, led by the Pima County Sheriff’s Office, has remained active since Guthrie’s disappearance about five months ago. On Monday, they stated that inquiries about the ransom note should be directed to the FBI.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department tip line at 520-351-4900 or reach out to the FBI tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI.
