Far-Left Influencer Links Tech Mogul to Political Network
Influencer Hasan Piker has pointed out Neville Roy Singham, a notable figure in the American Marxist tech scene, as the primary financier of a network of pro-communist nonprofits in the U.S. These organizations engage in political campaigns and advocacy, a claim that highlights the political aims behind Singham’s network. This marks an intriguing admission from a prominent member of the far-left community.
Such statements are particularly relevant as Congressional watchdogs have long suggested that Singham’s affiliated nonprofits act as political entities while benefiting from tax-exempt status. Critics argue that these activities may breach nonprofit tax regulations, which restrict political involvement for charities.
An exclusive report mentioned that the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control has issued subpoenas to Piker and Susan Medea Benjamin from Code Pink for potentially breaching sanctions against the Cuban Communist Party during a visit to Cuba in March, aimed at rallying ideological support through international “convoys.”
Although Piker and Benjamin did not respond to inquiries, they have portrayed their trip as a humanitarian effort to assist the Cuban populace.
In a recent livestream, Piker expressed concern when he declared, “The federal government is after me,” a statement that resonated with his audience, familiar with the dynamics of leftist organizations. Federal investigators suspect that Singham and the groups he supports, including Code Pink and other self-identified communist organizations, are under scrutiny for their political activities.
Various organizations in Singham’s network have been instrumental in orchestrating many of the divisive anti-American protests seen over the past decade. For context, the Party for Socialism and Liberation is often referred to as “PSL” among far-left activists.
During the livestream, Piker suggested that the main focus would likely be on Singham and his affiliations, comparing them to past funding initiatives. A Fox News Digital investigation revealed that Singham amassed $278 million from six nonprofits after marrying Code Pink co-founder Jodi Evans, funneling money into a worldwide network that promotes pro-China messages and aligns with the goals of the Chinese Communist Party.
Additionally, the investigation uncovered that Singham attended a meeting in Shanghai in November 2025, where he praised the initiatives of Xi Jinping and the Chinese Communist Party.
Piker came to Singham’s defense, suggesting the federal government is attempting to stifle the financial support that Singham offers to various causes. “This isn’t new; it’s been going on for quite a while,” Piker asserted, adding that restricting political expression is absurd.
He elaborated, “Roy Singham is an American citizen, a wealthy one at that. I believe he’s almost a billionaire.” Singham had previously sold his tech company, ThoughtWorks, for a significant sum, and later started creating a web of new nonprofits and shell companies based in Shanghai.
In describing Singham’s role, Piker called him a “funding vehicle” for numerous political efforts, noting that he has helped mobilize support for various causes, including protests against U.S. actions. Some critics within activist circles have expressed concern about such financial routes.
Interestingly, Piker’s commentary was notable as it was the first time someone in his position explicitly identified Singham’s role in financing political campaigns within the U.S.
According to further investigations, Singham has reportedly channeled $285 million into numerous organizations, including significant amounts to the People’s Forum and Code Pink. Various congressional committees are digging into the details of Singham’s funding practices, addressing foreign influence and adherence to nonprofit regulations.
Piker’s identification of Singham’s financial contributions to political campaigns is likely to spark additional investigations into these activities.
Piker, who is known for his ties to the socialist community, has gained significant recognition as a left-wing commentator and has faced criticism for his lifestyle choices, which some label as contradictory to his political beliefs. He streams extensively on platforms like Twitch, often discussing issues related to leftist ideologies and international viewpoints, all while embracing an upscale lifestyle.
The recent news surrounding the subpoenas has elicited varied reactions, drawing support from far-left figures while also facing backlash from some Democratic leaders who see Piker’s actions as distancing himself from mainstream politics.
Piker has condemned the investigations as politically motivated, portraying himself as a victim of a targeted attack. The Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control is known for enforcing U.S. sanctions, and the stakes are high as this could signal potential legal ramifications for those involved.
