Grace to You Executive Director Phil Johnson, who is also an elder at Los Angeles-based Grace Community Church, said the Rev. John MacArthur remained bedridden in the hospital after heart valve surgery and has begun receiving physical therapy.
“For those who missed my response to someone's question, please keep John MacArthur in your prayers as he is still in the hospital. He has been bedridden for a long time and is undergoing physical therapy,” Johnson said. Ta. I wrote Saturday at X.

MacArthur, 85, revealed during a brief appearance at Grace Community Church in November that he had undergone “three heart surgeries and lung surgeries in recent months.” Earlier this month, Johnson explained MacArthur said he was still recovering from those surgeries and refuted claims by “posters” on social media that the pastor “died in the hospital.”
“Anonymous, of course. And he's a long-time chowderhead with diabolical agendas, always pretending to know more than he does.” Really I will,” he wrote in response.

According to reports protestiaJohnson also shares his own Diagnosed with multiple myeloma (an incurable but treatable blood cancer) via social media.

“The drugs they inject me with make me weak and cause a lot of pain in my bones,” he continued. “And the blood thinners I'm on are wreaking havoc on the port in my carotid artery (Darlene gets mad when I bleed from the neck).”
“But things can and probably will get much worse. Strong chemotherapy is on the 27th. One week from Monday,” Johnson concluded his post.
