Helmet-wearing thieves shoot man multiple times and take his $22K Rolex during store stickup: cops

Two helmeted thugs shot a cell phone store clerk multiple times and stole a $22,000 Rolex during a robbery in Queens, police said Saturday.

According to the NYPD, the robbers got into an argument with the victim at the Top in Town Wireless store at 32-78 Steinway Street in Astoria just before 7 p.m. Friday.

During the fight, one of the thieves fired multiple shots at the police officer.

The victim, a 40-year-old man who works at a cell phone store, was shot in both legs and torso, according to the NYPD. He was transported to New York City Health Hospital/Elmhurst in stable condition.

Officials say they stole the victim's shockingly expensive watch before fleeing the scene on a scooter.

Police said one of the men was wearing a gray helmet, a black jacket and blue jeans. The other person was wearing a black helmet and red mask, a blue hooded sweatshirt and red and black sneakers, New York City police said.
