Herro, Zero and All-Out Attack during Sunday's 20-17 overtime loss between the Giants and Panthers at Allianz Arena:
hero
Tuba Hubbard showed why the Panthers gave him a lucrative contract extension this week. And the Giants' run defense proved why they had one of the worst games in the NFL. Hubbard kept the Giants on fire all afternoon, scoring 153 rushing yards and a touchdown on 28 carries. That's an impressive 5.5 yards per carry.
After the Giants cut the deficit to 10-7 in the third quarter, Hubbard moved the sticks with a break on a 25-yard run on third-and-1, then capped off the drive with a 1-yard touchdown. The Panthers led 17-7. The fumble in the fourth quarter ended up being nothing serious.
zero
Who else is there? Daniel Jones threw two interceptions, both with the Giants either inside the red zone or just outside the red zone. His accuracy was poor, missing a wide-open Malik Nabors on third down on the first drive of the game and bouncing a throw to Wan'Dale Robinson in the fourth quarter. The offense's mismanagement starts with Jones.
unknown
Panthers cornerback Jaycee Horn, the No. 8 pick in the 2021 draft, mostly covered and trapped Neighbors. Nabors had just six catches for 50 yards.
Main status
The Giants' three turnovers were all killers. Jones' interceptions came at the Panthers' 21 and 8-yard lines, and Tyrone Tracy's fumble set up the Panthers' game-winning field goal.
quote of the day
“I think so. You just have to understand it a little bit more. … It's just the big moments, and in order to win and come out on top, you have to understand what those big moments are. Certainly. It's a nuisance.”
