New Election Fraud Accusations Against Talarico
The contest for one of Texas’ U.S. Senate seats is heating up with fresh allegations targeting Democratic candidate James Talarico.
Talarico, a State Representative, has come under fire for allegedly misrepresenting his mother’s address in Austin to sidestep residency requirements when he ran in a Democratic-leaning district back in 2021.
He publicly claimed on October 13, 2021, that he would be returning to State House District 50—just a month ahead of the November 8, 2021, deadline necessary to establish a year of residency for the 2022 election.
At that time, he accused Republican lawmakers of altering the boundaries of State House District 52, which he previously represented, making it more favorable to Republican candidates.
“The Republicans drove me out of the district. If you think they can keep me off the House floor, think again,” he stated on social media.
According to a report from The Federalist, Talarico’s mother registered to vote at her Austin address in December 2021—well after the residency deadline—and used that same address for election-related paperwork, purchasing a home in District 50 after the March 2022 primary.
Yet, sources indicate there is no evidence to support that Talarico actually lived at his mother’s residence during that time. Supposedly, if he had lived there, he would have had to reside there for a minimum of a year before launching his campaign.
His voter registration—dated December 2021—reflected an Austin address, and he had previously been registered in Round Rock, Texas.
The Texas Secretary of State’s records show that Talarico’s address during the March 2022 Democratic primary was an Austin post office box.
There have also been reports about him sharing a checking account with his mother, and his campaign had reported an in-kind donation from his parents for moving expenses, amounting to $1,437.84, in December 2021.
As he faces questions about his residency status five years later, Attorney General Ken Paxton weighed in, asserting that Talarico has blatantly disregarded regulations and misled voters.
Talarico’s campaign didn’t respond to requests for comments from Blaze News.
Madison Searcy, a spokesperson for Paxton, didn’t mince words in her criticism, calling it “disgusting” that Talarico utilized his mother’s address to allegedly cast fraudulent votes, impacting an entire district.
Recently, a Democratic-leaning poll indicated that Talarico had a five-point approval advantage over Paxton, although Paxton is still considered a slight favorite among undecided voters.
