Hillary Clinton opinion piece ahead of Trump-Biden debate

Ahead of the first 2024 presidential debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who lost to Trump in the 2016 presidential election, suggested in an opinion piece: piece Because Biden is now president, he likely won’t have as much time to prepare for the debate as he did when facing Trump.

“Unfortunately, Biden will be starting at a disadvantage as he will not have the time to prepare that I did eight years ago. Being president is not just a day-to-day job; it’s being everywhere and doing everything at once, which historically leads to incumbents performing poorly in the first debate,” Clinton wrote.

But she said expectations for Trump’s debate performance were “very low, and if he hadn’t literally burst into flames on Thursday night, some would say he’d given a truly presidential performance.”

“He starts off with nonsense and then goes off on a tangent into nonsense.”

Clinton said Trump “unleashed a torrent of interruptions, insults and lies” during the 2016 debate. “Refuting Trump’s claims like in a normal debate is a waste of time. It’s nearly impossible to even tell what his claims are. He starts with nonsense and then goes off on a tangent. It’s been years since we’ve had a debate and this has only gotten worse,” she argued.

While describing Biden as a “smart and decent guy,” Clinton said Trump has “gotten angrier and crazier” since losing the last election.

Trump and Biden are scheduled to face off in a debate on Thursday night in Atlanta, Georgia, moderated by CNN’s Jake Tapper and Dana Bash.

Clinton has a new book out. schedule It’s due for release later this year under the title “Something Lost, Something Gained.”

“It’s about friendship, aging, marriage, politics, democracy, the threats we face as a country and how we can all work together to build a future we can be proud of,” she said. Tweeted.
