Hillary Clinton receives criticism for her remarks about Trump's military parade

Clinton Criticizes Trump’s Military Parade

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton recently expressed her views on President Donald Trump’s military parade, which marked the 250th anniversary of the U.S. military. Critics, particularly from conservative circles, accused her of disregarding the military’s significance. One comment on social media sharply criticized her, suggesting that her feelings towards the military were well-known.

In a post, Clinton juxtaposed images from the parade with peaceful protests happening simultaneously across the nation. These protests were organized in response to Trump’s event and the administration’s deportation actions in left-leaning cities. “Look at the scene yesterday in America,” she tweeted. “On one hand, we have Trump’s parade—which cost $45 million—and on the other, millions of people gathered to assert there’s no king here.”

Her tweet included photos of protests from Los Angeles and Houston, alongside pictures showing military vehicles during the parade. The administration claimed over 250,000 attended the parade, but rallies against Trump erupted in numerous cities, with themes of “No Kings” amid existing unrest in places like Portland and Los Angeles.

Clinton’s comments sparked backlash, with critics asserting that her statements reflected disdain for the military. Some called her post an empty gesture regarding the Army’s anniversary celebration. Florida Voice Assistant Director, for instance, remarked on the disdain Clinton supposedly holds for military members. Others echoed sentiments regarding the significance of the Army’s birthday celebration, dismissing Clinton’s position.

Amid the parade festivities, Clinton attended a wedding for her longtime aide Huma Abedin, who wed Alex Soros, son of prominent donor George Soros. Attendees included other notable figures, such as Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and former Vice President Kamala Harris. Clinton described the gathering as a joyful occasion, displaying the need for community amidst political divisions.

As various opinions unfolded regarding both the parade and protests, Clinton’s actions and remarks highlighted the complex interplay between public sentiment, political loyalty, and the interpretation of national celebrations.
