Homeless man savagely beaten by mob of teens that streamed attack on Instagram: report

Police in Oklahoma City are searching for several teenagers involved in a brutal attack on a homeless man that left him dead, with two young men in custody, according to reports.

According to court documents obtained by KFOR, a homeless man identified as Tillman Shannon was attacked by a group of young people on May 26 and beaten nearly to death.

The entire incident was captured on surveillance camera, which showed several young people from inside the car yelling and threatening Shannon.

Shannon tried to run away but was hit near a trash can at the opposite end of the parking lot.

Oklahoma City Police Sergeant Dillion Quirke told KFOR that the most shocking behavior in the attack was discovered on social media, with one of the suspects, 19-year-old Veronica Benavente, live-streaming the attack on her Instagram page.

According to an arrest affidavit, Benavente was allegedly yelling racial slurs and profanities as the group beat Shannon.

Police said around nine youths were involved in the attack.

Quirke told KFOR that the teenagers violently pulled out Shannon’s colostomy bag.

“He was pretty seriously injured, he had some pretty significant trauma,” Quirke told KFOR.

Police told KFOR that Shannon was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries but is expected to survive.

“It’s a horrible story,” Mike Martin, who has lived near the scene of the attack for decades, told KFOR. “It’s not that common, but there are a lot of gangs around here.”

“It’s really scary,” Trisha Tyler, a resident who moved to the area about five years ago, told KFOR. “This area isn’t normally that dangerous.”

Police arrested Benavente along with 18-year-old Eric Villagomez and three other juvenile suspects, but said they were still investigating the four other suspects seen in the video.

Benavente is being held at the Oklahoma County Detention Center on $150,000 bail and faces charges of aggravated assault, criminal conspiracy and felony conspiracy, according to arrest records.

Villagomez is being held at the Oklahoma County Jail on $100,000 bail and faces charges of aggravated assault, assault and felony conspiracy.

When contacted by Fox News Digital, Oklahoma City police declined to provide any information about the crime.
