Authorities in Montana are searching for a woman who disappeared after an afternoon horseback ride, leaving her horse and cellphone behind.

According to the Lewis and Clark County Sheriff's Department, Megan Rita Rounds, 27, has been in the car since taking her horse to a recreation area about 90 minutes from Bozeman on Friday, Oct. 4, around 2 p.m. We have not heard from each other.

Lowndes' parents reported the woman missing around 8 p.m. that night after she did not return home. The next day, her saddlebag containing her horse and cell phone was discovered.

She was last seen around 2 p.m., but Lowndes posted a photo of Sheriff Leo Dutton on Snapchat around 4:20 p.m. told KXLH.

The department said in a Facebook post on Monday that searches conducted by multiple agencies on foot and by drone were fruitless.

Because Lowndes' horse was found in a hill near Hauser Lake, the sheriff's office is concentrating its search in and around the body of water, Lt. Willie Wegner said. told KTVH.

On Monday, Dutton wrote on the department's Facebook page that she was with Lowndes' family and her husband and they were searching a portion of the Missouri River.

“Please stay away from search areas. This includes water search areas. If people try to approach them, they are putting scuba divers at risk,” he wrote. “Please do not interfere with the search… We would like to thank all members of the public who volunteered their time, whether on foot, on horseback or otherwise.”
