Democrats on the House Oversight Committee are asking businessman Lev Parnas, a former colleague of Rudy Giuliani, to come to the Capitol to attend President Biden’s second impeachment hearing on Wednesday. .
The Republican majority on the oversight committee is investigating accusations that Mr. Biden and his family used their political connections to line their own pockets, particularly during his time as vice president.
“This desperate impeachment inquiry stems from a series of lies told by an indicted liar close to a Russian operative. Thus, Rudy, whose original mission was to smear Joe Biden. There is no one better suited to tell the truth than Giuliani’s right-hand man Lev Parnas.” How does this campaign of lies and smear work? Lev Parnas is at the center of the impeachment inquiry We will be able to debunk the false claims and in the process explain how the Republican Party got into this depraved and embarrassing position,” said Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., the top Democrat on the committee. He said this in a statement to FOX News Digital.

Parnas previously claimed he worked with Giuliani to pressure Ukrainian authorities to announce an investigation into the Biden family in the run-up to the 2020 presidential election. In June 2022, he was sentenced to 20 months in prison for charges related to soliciting foreign currency for U.S. elections, wire fraud, and making false statements. U.S. Attorney Damien Williams accused him of funneling Russian money into U.S. elections and lying about the source of his political contributions.
Parnas will be joined at Wednesday’s hearing by former business associates of Hunter Biden, whose foreign dealings are of particular concern to Republican investigators. One is Tony Bobulinski, who privately told investigators that the Biden family was selling access to the current president. The second person, Jason Galanis, is in jail after pleading guilty to securities fraud.

Republicans on the oversight committee said Parnas was falsely convicted and said Democrats were “telling” Biden family members they weren’t inviting them.
“This tells us that Democrats did not call Hunter Biden’s business associates who asserted his father’s innocence because they knew that Biden’s testimony would not stand up to public scrutiny. Instead, they are relying on a convicted liar to claim that Joe Biden never met Burisma.” Officials say they did in fact have dinner with the person. ” said a commission spokesperson.

FOX News Digital previously reported that Democrats were considering inviting former President Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen to draw attention to the president’s own overseas business dealings.
A person familiar with these discussions suggested to Fox News Digital that Democrats believe Parnas is better suited to their goal of pointing out flaws in the Republican investigation. They said, “Mr. Cohen can speak directly about how Mr. Trump used the White House to line his own pockets, but Mr. Parnas can speak directly about how Mr. Trump used the White House to line his own pockets, but Mr. “They can speak directly about whether they used unreliable sources.”
