With a close victory, House GOP members barely passed a budget resolution that would allow President Donald Trump's agenda package to be unlocked.

The measure was passed on Thursday with a vote of 216-214. The vote became closer as two Republicans, Representative Thomas Massey (R-KY.) and Victoria Spartz (R-Ind.) voted.

But the conservatives still face a difficult fight to get 47th An agenda for the president's marquee agenda to become a reality due to the huge differences in spending.

“We want to make sure we are providing shared goals in the budget resolution process,” House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) told reporters Thursday morning before the vote. “Our two rooms are also directly aligned with very important principles, which is the principle of financial responsibility.”

“We will protect important programs for everyone who qualifies to receive them.”

Both the House and Senate had to adopt budgetary resolutions to unlock the settlement process.

Currently, Republicans hold 53 Senate seats, and the settlement is important to gain a promised agenda of tax cuts, defense and border security and to strengthen energy exploration through Congress.

This comes after Senate Republicans adopted a compromise budget resolution last week, which includes two sets of instructions.

The first is modeled after the version that cleared the house in February, and it sought a second with at least $1.5 trillion cuts and a cut worth relatively $4 billion.

Before the vote, Trump and the GOP leadership were begging House Republicans to Greenlight for budget resolutions, allowing them to begin drafting the bill and hash other differences.

After repeated skepticism, GOP leaders were able to turn the minds of hardliners, ensuring they would get deeper spending cuts than they wanted despite fears that the outcome would cut Medicaid.

“Congratulations to the House on the passage of the bill, which set the stage for one of the greatest and most important signatures in our country's history, and among many others, it will be a summary and a reduction in regulations so far.

On the other hand, there are still some differences in the set of instructions.

The Senate version was introduced to permanently act on tax cuts and employment in 2017 and create enough space to fully realize Trump's campaign pledge.

However, the House version only calls for an increase in the $4.5 trillion deficit against tax cuts. This means that Trump's full agenda may not come true.

Additionally, the Senate direction also provides $350 billion in new funding for border security, as House directions only require $200 billion.

Additionally, the upper chamber version increased defense spending by $150 billion, while the home increased by just $100 billion.

As Congress is expected to break for a two-week Passover and Easter break later Thursday, GOP leaders hope to get the final bill on Trump's desk by anniversary.
