House Republicans Introduce Bill to Back Up President Trump’s Transgender Athlete Ban

Republicans in the House of Representatives have introduced a bill that codifies the law that President Donald Trump bans transgender athletes in women's sports.

In one of his early executive orders, the president changed the federal government's Title IX rules to prevent trans athletes from playing in federal tax-subsidized sports for women and girls.

The president's order on transgender athletes faces multiple court cases by activists, leftist judges, and certainly, unless formal law backs it up, the IX order could be cancelled by the next Democratic president. GOP lawmakers are taking action to ensure that it is not overturned by a future president, Fox News It has been reported.

Illinois Republican Rep. Mary Miller has introduced a bill that would make Trump bans on trans athletes permanent.

“The innocence, privacy and safety of young girls should never be controversial,” Miller said in a statement when he introduced the bill. “Public schools that refuse to follow President Trump's orders to protect women-only spaces are not entitled to a single dime of taxpayer funds.”

Rep. Miller is currently looking for a co-sponsor. However, according to Fox News, she won the support of 72 other Republicans when she introduced similar laws last year.

The bill states that “locker room facilities actively used in connection with educational programs or activities may only be used by same-sex individuals, as determined solely by each individual's reproductive biology and birth genetics.”

The bill adds that it is illegal to use facilities other than those designated for one gender, determined solely by birth biology and genetics.
