Darius Slayton did not appear for the second straight week.
A plane flies over MetLife Stadium.
Once again, what was flying in the skies over New Jersey made the news, and no, it wasn't a drone.
Ninety minutes before Sunday's game against the Ravens at MetLife Stadium, a small plane flew overhead with a message to Giants co-owner John Mara: Mara that's enough. We won't stop until you fire everyone. ”
In the end, the Giants lost 35-14.
Last week, before a 14-11 loss to the Saints, a plane flew over the stadium with a banner that read: Mara that's enough. Please fix this dumpster fire. ”
The timing of these flights coincides with players returning to their locker rooms after their initial pre-game training.
“I haven't seen either plane this week or last week,” Slayton said. “So now that people have time and money, they choose for themselves how to spend it.”
This week's overhead message, sent minutes after the first plane flew over the stadium, did not include any banners that had nothing to do with the Giants.
It was a political ad for a candidate for governor of New Jersey.
Outside linebacker Brian Burns said he had “no comment” on the stadium flyover. “I really don't understand [s–t] things to do with me. I have bigger things to focus on, playing against Lamar. [Jackson]”
The person who claimed to have hired the second plane wanted to be known as “Miguel” when he appeared as a guest. On the podcast “Talkin' Giants” on sunday.
He remains anonymous because he wants to focus on the frustrations of Big Blue fans and the fact that they “don't want to repeat themselves.” [Dave] Gettleman 2.0”
“The main message is we are not close yet,” he said. “This administration has consistently underperformed. This roster has been taking shape under their vision, but our situation has gotten worse year by year. I no longer trust my ability to lead.”
The Giants entered Week 15 with a 2-11 record and an eight-game losing streak, raising questions about the job security of general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll.
The Giants entered the game trailing the Ravens by 16.5 points (8-5), the highest point differential in the NFL this season.
This was the league's largest point differential for a home team since at least 1966.
This person said they first contacted the aircraft company shortly after the Giants' bye week, but had to adjust their message about whether the plane was cleared to fly.
“I specifically wanted to say, 'Fire Joe Sean and Brian Daboll,' but they couldn't say that directly, so we had to adjust.”

thank you
“You just control what you can control,” Daboll said when asked about the plane and its message after recent losses.
He added that it wasn't a distraction. “I didn't know about that until you just told me.”
So, control what you can control. Just prepare, have a good week and be ready to play whoever is available. ”
Slayton, the Giants' longest-tenured player (he joined the team in the 2019 NFL Draft) and is still in uniform until late in the season, wasn't bothered or moved by the message.
“That means everyone is entitled to their own opinion,” Slayton said. “I understand the fan perspective, the frustration, all that kind of stuff. At the end of the day, I think we have a talented roster and they're building a talented roster here as well. I think there are some things we need to improve on to get back on track.”
