How Israel’s Mossad secretly entered Iran to carry out attacks on its nuclear sites

Israeli Intelligence Operation Targets Iran

Israeli intelligence agents have reportedly executed a clandestine operation to smuggle missiles and explosive drones into Iran ahead of a significant attack on Friday. Security sources from Israel indicated that the operatives lured Iranian military officials into specific locations, where they were subsequently neutralized.

The Mossad, Israel’s primary intelligence agency, alongside other entities like Aman and Sinbet, has been pivotal in this operation. Sources suggest that Mossad agents infiltrated critical areas in Iran several months ago with the aim of orchestrating a surprise strike to disrupt Iran’s nuclear infrastructure and military leadership.

The embedded explosive drones were part of a strategic plan to maximize the operational impact during coordinated assaults. Additionally, Israeli operatives were able to secretly deliver precision-guided weaponry deep within Iran, enabling attacks on Tehran’s air defenses from within.

According to reports shared with U.S. media, the operation, dubbed “Lion,” executed three stages early Friday. The first phase saw the deployment of advanced ammunition near Iran’s surface-to-air missile sites, aiming to disable these defenses.

During the second phase, strike platforms were assembled, and targeting technology was integrated into mobile units designed to engage and disrupt Iranian air defense systems directly.

The final phase involved targeting surface-to-surface missile launchers located at military bases just outside of Tehran. When the moment was right, an explosive drone was remotely activated, successfully destroying the launcher and posing a threat to both Israeli strategic and civilian targets.

The coordinated sabotage paved the way for Israeli airstrikes, which effectively dismantled radar systems and other defensive measures, also targeting major nuclear sites, such as uranium enrichment facilities.

Israeli forces reported that around 200 aircraft participated in the initial wave, striking about 100 targets across Iran. The Natanz facility, a key location for nuclear enrichment, became particularly notable when black smoke was seen rising from it.

Later that day, Israeli officials confirmed the destruction of numerous radar installations and surface-to-air missile batteries in western Iran, further weakening the country’s defensive capabilities.

The operation was particularly consequential, affecting high-ranking Iranian military officials, including General Hossein Salami, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard, and other top leaders.

Israeli officials suggested a deception campaign was effective in bringing several high-ranking Iranian Air Force commanders together for a meeting, which also played into their strategic planning.

“We carried out certain activities that helped us learn more about them and used that information to influence their behavior,” noted an official. “We anticipated their meeting but, more crucially, we ensured they would stay there.”

Details on how they specifically managed to deceive the Iranian officials remain somewhat murky.

“Critical information was gathered, including surveillance of key defense facilities and nuclear scientists,” a source provided. “This was executed alongside a secret initiative targeting Iran’s missile capabilities.”

This latest operation appears to be one of the most significant military actions against Iran since the Iran-Iraq war in the 1980s.

Following the operation, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu firmly defended the attack, characterizing it as a crucial step to mitigate the Iranian threat to Israel’s existence.

The tone from Iranian leadership has grown increasingly hostile, rejecting U.S. nuclear negotiations and condemning perceived American aggression, while simultaneously calling out Israel.

English translation: “We are embarking on one of the largest military operations in history against the Islamic regime that has suppressed our country for decades. Our goal is to dismantle their nuclear ambitions while protecting our nation.”
